Meet Rev. Andre C Barnes, or “Dre”

Andre Barnes has had various experiences throughout his life, which has molded him into an amazing inspirational speaker! Barnes’ experiences will provide you with unmatchable motivation in the areas of Men’s Ministry/Conferences, Women Ministry/Conferences, Youth, and Family.

Born in Muskegon Heights, MI, Barnes graduated from high school and began his Army career in 1983. Over the span of 12 years, his efforts pushed him through the ranks, and he was chosen to instruct Advanced Individual Training (AIT) and the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC). This position opened the door for him to assist others in becoming powerful leaders while also nurturing his own natural leadership abilities. Barnes is the President/CEO of Interpersonal CORE Consulting (ICC). He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Word of God Bible Institute, a Bachelor of Science in Human Services (Summa Cum Laude) and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership (Summa Cum Laude). He is also a Certified Mental Health Coach (AACC) and an ARISE Certified Master Trainer in the field of Life Skills and Practical Living, a Certified Instructor in the areas of Multicultural Training, Discipline with Dignity, Conflict Resolution, Effective Communications, Anger Management, and Effective Parenting.

He is recognized as a family/youth professional with over 30 years of experience. The former Program Coordinator for the Academy of Hope at Lee CI in SCDC (focused on the top 1% most violent and influential leader with the focus of training them in the Violence Interruption model of Leadership. Barnes is currently a Mental Health Officer (MHO) in the Restricted Housing Unit in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Barnes is the author of two books: “Crippled, But I’ve Got a Right to Be Here!” and “Can’t Go Back, Can’t Stay Here, What’s Up Over There?” Both books address the crisis of the current culture and the leadership required to reach them. His speaking engagements motivate listeners by empowering them with strategies to take back, recognize, and exercise the power of choice in their lives. Barnes is the host of his own radio show on Freethinkers Radio titled, “I’m Just Saying… Dre’ (Sunday’s and Thursday’s @ 8pm), as well as a frequent guest for “On Point” With Cynthia Hardy on 101.3 The Big DM where they address current social, cultural, and spiritual issues.

Andre’ Barnes uses his life full of experience to lead anyone in search of clear direction and growth – from congregations, to students, to Bible study participants, to radio listeners, to colleagues. He “ministers” to whomever stands in front of him and is willing to learn! Barnes is a gifted trainer, facilitator, motivational speaker, and minister of the Gospel of Christ to prepare Leaders to Lead!
